The Dary Ordynska farm is actively working towards ensuring the food security of the region: local products at a price half the price of imported ones are already available to Siberians, and despite the fact that there are still at least a couple of months before the mass harvest.
The agricultural enterprise “Gifts of Ordynska” is well known to the inhabitants of our region: for more than ten years they have been growing “second bread” – potatoes, borscht vegetables – cabbage, beets, carrots, as well as radishes, pumpkins and zucchini. Probably, it can be said without exaggeration that vegetables grown on the farm are present on the table of every Novosibirsk family today. In addition, they are exported to the regions of Siberia and the Far East, as well as to other countries.
Recall that this spring, responding to the challenges that arose in connection with foreign policy events, the farm increased the sown area occupied by potatoes of various varieties by 15 percent – this most important food crop was planted on 465 hectares. This spring has turned out to be friendly, already in May there was a thirty-degree heat, which was replaced by June rains. Therefore, the harvest of early potato varieties ripened somewhat earlier than usual. “Riviera” was especially successful – an unpretentious high-yielding early variety with beautiful even soft creamy tubers.
“We are already harvesting potatoes and supplying them to retail chains, we ship 10-15 tons a day,” said Shakir Suleimanov, director of Dary Ordynska LLC. — Our products are supplied to stores in the Novosibirsk and Kemerovo regions. When we remove the early varieties, the medium ones will ripen, then the medium-late ones, and so on until late autumn. We can say that we have launched a potato conveyor so that the consumer always has the opportunity to purchase fresh root crops.
It should be noted that the prices for locally produced young potatoes are about two times lower than for imported ones. If, say, “second bread” grown in Egypt, today they offer 80 rubles per kilogram, then Siberian – 35-40. Naturally, further prices will be lower – the first vegetables and fruits of the season are always expensive. According to Shakir Suleymanov, with the support of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship Development of the Novosibirsk Region, the agricultural enterprise managed to establish cooperation with retail chains. If earlier retailers were not too willing to sell the products of local manufacturers, now the situation has changed dramatically.
- It is beneficial for us to work with retail chains, as they finance our production. We conclude a contract for the supply of certain volumes of products, and retailers make an advance payment, the amount of which reaches 20 percent. That is, in fact, the goods have not yet been grown, but have already been paid for. This gives us the opportunity to develop, – said the head of Dary Ordynska LLC. – We also cooperate with large wholesale markets, for example, with the Khiloksky shopping center. They provide us with places for trading from cars free of charge, upon our request. It is convenient and profitable.
Shakir Suleimanov prefers not to talk about the prospects for the upcoming harvest – he believes that it is too early to talk about it. As well as the prices of vegetables. But farmers really hope that they will be acceptable for both producers and consumers.
“Taking this opportunity, I want to congratulate all workers in the trade sector on their professional holiday, and the residents of the region on the upcoming 85th anniversary of the Novosibirsk Region,” Shakir Suleimanov emphasized. – Dear friends! With all my heart I wish you peace, happiness, good health, well-being, material prosperity and all kinds of blessings!
