Pessl Instruments GmbH, a global leader in agricultural technology solutions, has announced a distribution partnership with SAS Agro Czech Republic, aimed at providing IoT-enabled weather stations to farmers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. This partnership aims to enhance crop yields, reduce costs, and promote sustainable agriculture practices.

The collaboration between Pessl Instruments and SAS Agro Czech Republic will empower farmers with advanced tools to optimize field operations and make informed decisions. With access to real-time weather and soil moisture data, farmers can determine the ideal timing for tasks such as seeding, spraying, irrigation, and harvesting. This information will help them mitigate risks associated with plant diseases, pests, and extreme weather conditions like frost and drought. Ultimately, the goal is to improve resource management and increase farmers’ profitability while ensuring environmental sustainability.

As part of the partnership, Pessl Instruments will provide SAS Agro with its comprehensive portfolio of agricultural technologies, including weather stations, environmental data loggers, and upcoming IoT products under the METOS® brand. This collaboration marks an important milestone in Pessl Instruments’ strategy to support Czech and Slovak farmers in their decision-making processes, streamlining operations, and optimizing resource utilization.

Gottfried Pessl, the CEO and Founder of Pessl Instruments, expressed the company’s commitment to risk mitigation and facilitating farmers’ decision-making processes through the use of in-field sensors. He highlighted the significance of weather and soil moisture information in enabling farmers to save time and resources by making informed decisions about entering the field.

The distribution agreement between SAS Agro Czech Republic and Pessl Instruments GmbH was signed at Pessl Instruments’ headquarters in Weiz, Austria, on May 4, 2023.

With this partnership, Pessl Instruments and SAS Agro aim to deliver better user experiences and address the challenges faced by farmers today. By leveraging the power of IoT-enabled weather stations and advanced agricultural technologies, they strive to support farmers in achieving higher productivity, profitability, and sustainability in their operations.
