Countertop fryers have gained significant popularity among many food service establishments that require such equipment for producing low to moderate quantity of deep-fried food, according to a report recently publishes by Technavio.
Electric countertop fryers are also more economical compared with the floor model electric fryers as they mainly come in the USD 100-USD 3,900 price range, says the report named “Global commercial countertop fryers market 2017-2020”, that provides an analysis of the most important trends.
Manjunath Reddy, a lead analyst from Technavio, specializing in research on food sector, says: “Commercial countertop fryers mainly come in two basic versions, namely electric fryers, and gas fryers. These fryers are used to fry foods like potato chips, onion rings, fish, chicken, and shrimps. The frying time and oil temperature largely depend on the food type and size of the fryer.”
New models with improved features enhance the overall efficiency and productivity in commercial kitchens. Some of the new features being incorporated in the commercial countertop fryers are safety interlocks and hydraulic thermostats.
Green fryers are environmentally friendly and offer numerous benefits like savings on utility costs, minimized oil usage and energy consumption, and low carbon footprint. With factors such as minimized oil usage, the countertop fryers also help in saving on oil costs, thereby offering monetary benefits.
Growing consumer awareness regarding the adverse effects of trans fats, which are mainly related to frying oils, is encouraging many food service operators to opt for alternative low or zero trans-fat cooking oils. These oils are considered to be comparatively healthier and have better nutrition value. Many producers of cooking oils are also offering these oils in highly stable forms.
The key vendors are APW Wyott, Perfect Fry, Star Manufacturing International and Vollrath Company.
