For the food security of the region and the availability of quality products, this year the sown area in the Amur region has been significantly increased. For example, soybeans are planned to be planted on an area of 880,000 hectares this year. For comparison, last year this crop occupied 111,000 hectares.
At present, 463.2 thousand hectares have already been sown with soybeans, which is 214.7 thousand hectares more than on the same date last year. Sowing of crops is carried out in all regions, except for Zeya and Magdagachinsky.
There will also be much more local vegetables and potatoes. Now vegetable crops are planted in eight districts: Arkharinsky, Blagoveshchensky, Svobodnensky, Tambov regions, Seryshevsky, Ivanovsky, Zavitinsky and Belogorsky municipal districts. A total of 138 hectares of vegetables were sown, which is 104 hectares more than last year. In total, it is planned to sow 0.6 thousand hectares, which is 0.14 thousand hectares higher than the level of 2021.
Potatoes are planted in Arkharinsky, Blagoveshchensky, Konstantinovsky, Oktyabrsky, Svobodnensky, Tambov regions, Bureysky, Ivanovsky, Zavitinsky and Romny districts. This crop is currently occupied by 1135 hectares, on this date last year 522 hectares were planted. In general, the sown area of potatoes will be 2.3 thousand hectares, which is 0.4 thousand hectares higher than in 2021.
Today, spring crops have been sown on an area of 634.5 thousand hectares, which is 200 thousand hectares more than last year. Barley is sown on an area of 41.9 thousand hectares, wheat – 76.1 thousand hectares, oats – 20.9 thousand hectares, triticale – 0.6 thousand hectares, buckwheat – 0.1 thousand hectares, corn for grain – 19.2 thousand hectares.
Sowing of forage crops is carried out by six districts: Blagoveshchensky, Konstantinovsky, Seryshevsky and Tambov regions, as well as Ivanovsky and Belogorsky municipal districts. In total, 11.2 thousand hectares were sown, which is also more than last year – by 1.7 thousand hectares.
Grain crops are planned to be sown this year on an area of 245,000 hectares, which is 50,000 hectares more than last year. Wheat will be planted on 130 thousand hectares, barley – 50 thousand hectares, oats – 33 thousand hectares, buckwheat – 5.0 thousand hectares, triticale – 2 thousand hectares, corn for grain – 25.0 thousand hectares.
The current sowing campaign involves 3,500 tractors, 1,600 sowing complexes and seeders, more than 2,000 tillage machines and other agricultural equipment, the government of the Amur Region reports.
