Astrakhan, Samara and Chelyabinsk regions expressed their readiness to cooperate with the republic.
The day before, within the framework of the Forum of Heads of Regions of the SCO Member States, Deputy Trade Representative of Russia in Uzbekistan Igor Kamynin held a number of meetings with official representatives of the Astrakhan and Samara regions, as well as a business delegation of the Chelyabinsk region. This is reported by a Sputnik correspondent.

It is known that all regions are currently actively working to establish cooperation with Uzbek partners and have far-reaching plans for further cooperation with the regions of the republic.

Thus, the Minister of Industry and Natural Resources of the Astrakhan region Ilya Volynsky spoke about the interaction of the region with the Khorezm region. A cooperation agreement has already been signed between the regions, negotiations are underway to increase the number of flights on the Astrakhan-Urgench route, he noted.

The regions are also interested in cooperation in the field of agriculture, in particular, the Astrakhan region is ready to provide territories to the Uzbek side for growing potatoes and early ripening varieties of cotton.

The Minister of Tourism of the Samara Region Artur Abdrashitov also noted the need to increase flights between Samara and the cities of Uzbekistan, including in order to increase the tourist flow.

The Russian region is also interested in creating a single platform for informing about the needs of HoReCa enterprises in the purchase of individual goods. For example, there are currently 468 facilities in the Samara region, each of which is a potential customer for textile products and equipment for the restaurant business.

The Chelyabinsk region was represented by a business delegation of 18 enterprises that manufacture products in the IT industry, the oil and gas sector, as well as medical and energy equipment. Many companies are already operating in the market of the republic and are interested in localizing production on its territory.

The Forum of Heads of Regions of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is being held in Tashkent on August 3-4. The event is attended by more than 50 speakers – heads of regions and heads of delegations from Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

The forum is designed to deepen interregional cooperation in trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other priority areas.

The second day of the Forum will continue in the format of a round table.
