In the Vladimir region, they started harvesting. All districts have started harvesting grain. Melenkovsky district is among the leaders; potatoes, beets and carrots are already being harvested there.
According to the regional department of agriculture, as of August 8, 18 thousand hectares of grain crops (19%) were harvested, 47 thousand tons of grain were harvested with a yield of 26.2 centners per hectare. The yield is two centners more than last year for the same period.
“152 combines are working on harvesting. In the Melenkovsky district, they started harvesting early potatoes – 337 tons were harvested from 11 hectares with a yield of 337 centners per hectare. In the Melenkovsky and Vyaznikovsky districts, they began to harvest vegetables – 110 tons were harvested from 22 hectares. August is the busiest and most active month in the life of the villagers. At the same time, fodder is being harvested, and grain harvesting, and preparing the soil for sowing winter crops, and sowing winter crops, ”wrote Konstantin Demidov, director of the Department of Agriculture, in his social networks.
Harvested 26 thousand tons of hay, 416 thousand tons of haylage, 60 thousand tons of silage, seven thousand tons of straw. In total, 17.5 centners of feed units per one conditional head of livestock. In the region, 12,000 hectares of arable land have been prepared for sowing winter crops, plowing of fallow land has begun, and winter sowing has begun in the Yuryev-Polsky district – the first 60 hectares are ready.
In 2022, according to Vladimirstat, spring grain and leguminous crops (without corn) on farms of all categories were sown on an area of 43.8 thousand hectares, potatoes – 9.1 thousand hectares, open ground vegetables – 2.8 thousand hectares. Grains were sown by 20% more than in 2021.
