McCain Foods announces the construction of a second potato processing plant in China

McCain Foods announces the construction of a second potato processing plant in China to meet the growing demand for its potato products. The new plant will require an investment of US $200 million and will be located in the Yangling Agriculture Hi-Tech Development Zone, Shaanxi Province.

Through increased capacity and specialized production capability, working closely with local farmers to source high-quality raw potatoes, McCain Foods intends to continue to lead innovation in frozen potato products and meet the growing market demand for locally prepared products across a range of cuisines.

Being a family owned business from a small town in New Brunswick is at the core of how McCain Foods makes business decisions, cares for its employees and engages with local customers around the globe.

Present in China for over 25 years, McCain Foods Limited is a leading supplier of frozen potato products for the local Western and Asian foodservice markets and more recently the retail sector. A range of McCain potato products from French fries to potato specialties can be found in restaurants across China. McCain Foods Limited, China is headquartered in Shanghai, employs 400 people and operates an existing production facility in Harbin, Heilongjiang province.

As a global company, McCain Foods operates in 160 countries around the world, with 51 facilities located in local markets to best serve our customers.
