He specified that oats, lupins and peas have already been fully sown. Sowing of rapeseed is completed. Until the end of the week, work will be completed on the fields allotted for barley, spring wheat and sunflower. 115 thousand hectares out of 125 planned are already occupied under sugar beet. Last year, the entire sown area under this strategic crop amounted to 110,000 hectares.

According to Artamonov, if the weather is favorable, the farmers of the region will be able to harvest a record harvest of sugar beets.

Oilseeds are located on an area of 275,000 hectares. Soybean sown areas have been increased by 25,000 hectares. This new crop for the region will be sown on 115,000 hectares this year.
“I am sure that in this year, which is not the easiest for the country, Lipetsk farmers will be able to show good results and provide food for the inhabitants of the region and other regions,” Artamonov notes.
