Late Blight Lookalikes on Leaves and Stems

White mold on stems

Dense, white fungal growth develops on stems. However, affected
stem areas are not dark brown to black as in late blight infections.
Later, the areas infected with white mold turn whitish and break
easily. Sclerotia develop in or on the stems.
