The support measure has proven its effectiveness and relevance.
The support measure was developed at the initiative of the Governor of the Kostroma Region Sergey Sitnikov in 2020. Every resident of the region can get free use of land for growing potatoes and vegetables.
Last year, municipalities formed 529 free sites within the framework of the program. All of them are near the place of residence of citizens. Local agricultural organizations are involved in rendering assistance with land cultivation.
This year, 227 families of the Kostroma region have already applied for land plots. Most of the residents of the region, who previously used this measure of support, again applied for it.
According to the department of agro-industrial complex, the largest number of applications is noted in the territory of the Kostroma region. 124 families expressed their desire to receive land for planting potatoes and vegetables of the “borscht set”. To provide for everyone, this year the municipality allocated another 4 hectares of land near the village of Apraksino and the village of Ilyinskoye.
“In the municipalities of the Kostroma region, an additional list of land plots has been formed for free provision to citizens for growing agricultural products. Last year, within the framework of the program, 529 land plots were provided to the residents of the region, by the new season their number has been increased to 601,” Andrey Plotnikov, director of the agro-industrial complex department, reported to Governor Sergei Sitnikov.
The administrations of the municipalities of the Kostroma region will continue accepting applications from citizens for the provision of land plots for growing vegetables until mid-May.
