The eighth annual Kiremko Nacht van Woerden event took place in the Woerden city centre on October 20 this year. Prior to this event, Kiremko and alongside company’s strategic partners organized their annual open event for customers, agents and relations. “We are proud to say that this event was once again a huge success”, said Paul Oosterlaken, director at Kiremko B.V. “This year’s theme was cooperation, and our goal was to show what we can achieve by working together.”
During the event, an example of co-operation was introduced to the event attendees. In a unique setting and with Japanese drum rolls in the background, a complete hydro cutting system with VPCK product pump was revealed. “We have been working hard on the redesign of this system”, proudly Oosterlaken mentioned. “We have been working hard lately to optimize this system. By eliminating turbulence and reducing the number of necessary flow rates, we increase the cutting quality and process line productivity. All research and testing is done in cooperation with an American French fries processor. They have now installed twenty new Kiremko hydro cutting systems.”
The cutting system features a double knife block holder with switcher. When the active knife block is blocked, the second knife block with pipe alignment automatically takes over. This prevents downtime of the machine. It is also important for ergonomic reasons: to get a consistent cutting quality it is necessary to change the blades of the knife block on a regular basis. Kiremko’s knife block holder is designed to do this within minutes.
The new cutting system also has a special control system of its own which controls water pressure and volume, depending on the product. This is a cooperation between Kiremko and Van den Pol Elektrotechniek.
Together with Packo Pumps, Kiremko developed the VPCK product pump, part of the new hydro cutting system. “This product pump is designed to decrease product damage”, Paul explained. “Extensive research and tests have shown that the VPCK is currently the best there is when it comes to speed, effectivity and the improvement of process line productivity.”
