Kemin Industries Food Technologies, a provider of shelf life extension and food safety solutions for the global food industry, launched a new natural frying solution, FORTI-FRY, at Food Ingredients Europe, held in Frankfurt, between November 28-30.
FORTI-FRY is a combination of natural antioxidants which improves the oxidative stability as well as the general performance of frying oils. The product prolongs the frying life of the oil while decreasing the amount of foaming.
“Due to the powerful combination of natural antioxidants, specialty oils and innovative emulsifier system, FORTI-FRY promotes heat transfer, resulting in an even browning of the fried food from the very first batch onward,” said Stefaan Van Dyck, president of Food Technologies, Kemin Europe.
The number of pre-fried snack product launches in Europe, the Middle East and Africa are continuously increasing each year, with potato products as the number one category, the company says. Manufacturers launching these new fried products will benefit from adding FORTI-FRY into their frying oil as it allows them to decrease cost, and at the same time, increase product quality.
“FORTI-FRY provides the frying industry with a tailor-made, label friendly and cost-effective solution that maintains the quality and nutritional value of both frying oil and fried product, which is expected by consumers,” said Kelly De Vadder, marketing manager of Food Technologies, Kemin Europe.
