Self-sufficiency in agricultural products has grown in Kamchatka in recent years, Roman Vasilevsky, deputy chairman of the regional government, said.
“Like all regions of the Russian Federation, we have the task of increasing the production of agricultural products and processed products so that they are always on the tables of the inhabitants of the Kamchatka Territory. On the territory of the Kamchatka Territory, there are programs for the development of agriculture, for the development of processing of agricultural products, and today we continue to work to increase the output,” he said.
Vasilevsky noted that the area sown with vegetables and potatoes on the peninsula is increasing every year. This year, more than 900 hectares were allocated in the region for planting potatoes in agricultural enterprises and peasant farms. Next year, it is planned to increase the area again, and not only for potatoes, but also for other open-ground vegetables.
