In the village of Kostino, Rybnovsky district, Ryazan region, they are trying to save the Nikitinsky estate. The plot about the object of cultural heritage was shown on the federal TV channel “Russia-Culture”.
Now the Nikitinsky estate is in need of restoration. The building in the neoclassical style was built at the end of the 19th century, and at the end of the 20th century it turned into ruins.
The Nikitinsky family devoted themselves to the art of agriculture and breeding. The outstanding domestic breeder Nikolai Nikitinsky was called the “potato king”. Near the house there were experimental fields where more than 800 varieties of potatoes were grown.
In Soviet times, the manor house had a hostel, a state farm and a gardener’s school. In 1998, there was a fire here, the perpetrators have not yet been found. But there is one more problem – part of the outbuildings of the estate turned out to be outside the protection zone of the monument of federal significance – and their owners can simply demolish them when they wish. Only five sites are officially guarded, including the Church of the Epiphany, but they are in disrepair.
“The court imposed an administrative fine on the copyright holder for failure to comply with the requirement of a security obligation in the amount of two hundred thousand rubles,” Ryazan News quotes Oleg Vasilkin, deputy head of the State Inspectorate for the Protection of Cultural Heritage Objects of the Ryazan Region.
Currently, documents are being prepared for the state program for the preservation of the monument. It is noted that if the estate is included in this list next year, then this will allow preserving the still surviving parts of the house and garden of the breeder Nikolai Nikitinsky.
The regional branch of VOOPIIK on its page of the social network VKontakte reported that an application had been submitted to identify 4 objects that are part of the Nikitinsky estate: a service wing, an office, a barn, a laundry. All buildings are in good condition.
