According to forecasts, the volume of laying many vegetable crops in the stabilization fund will increase by a third. Demand exceeds supply, the heads of agricultural enterprises and farms that specialize in vitamin products confirm.

In JSC “Firma “Kadino” the area under vegetables increased from 120 to 188 hectares. We have already dealt with carrots, onions and cabbage by direct sowing. Potatoes and cabbage seedlings are being planted.

More than half have already been planted. We comply with agronomic deadlines. Our ancestors planted potatoes when the apple trees were in bloom, and we can carry out this work until June 1. There are no ultra-early varieties, the most popular ones from the buyer are “Queen Anna”, “Red Scarlet”. We bought the elite, we expect a yield of 400-500 centners per hectare. Two storage facilities are designed for 7,000 tons, demand is stable. We plan to carry out fertilizers and processing strictly according to the technology, two combines are involved in planting.

- I see such a seeder for cabbage for the first time. We first take seedlings in the greenhouse, and in the field I have to follow the unit and, if necessary, overseed the plants manually. I’m a villager – no stranger. They bring us lunch. Weather permitting, we stay until 7 pm. The demand for last year’s cabbage is higher than we can offer: wholesale, our branded trade. Yes, and we fulfill our obligations under the stabilization fund – these are schools, hospitals. All other vegetables are also in small amounts and are in demand by trade.

45 percent of the area for vegetables has already been sown in the region. New areas of crop production are being developed by JSC “Alexandriyskoye” in the Shklovsky District. A field of 100 hectares will be occupied by potatoes, onions, carrots, beets, cabbage, and in autumn the products will go on the shelves. Last year, a good crop of cabbage was harvested at Aleksandriysky. In Cherikovsky district, all agricultural enterprises will grow table beets, in Klichevsky, farmers have relied on beans, and farmers in Bykhovsky – on zucchini, pumpkin and other raw materials for the local canning and vegetable drying plant.
Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Aleksey Bogdanov noted that in the 2022/23 season Belarus will increase the amount of stabilization funds laid down:
“Let’s apply a slightly different mechanism that will allow us to expand the volume of vegetables and fruits even more, especially the borscht set, which is especially popular with our population, so that it will last until the new harvest. We will increase bookmark volumes for a number of product groups by 30-40 percent. We carried out an in-depth analysis: taking into account the situation of last year, we will make adjustments to the stabilization funds.
