Harvesting of early vegetables and potatoes has begun in Kabardino-Balkaria. Young tubers, zucchini, carrots, onions, table beets come directly from the fields and beds of local residents to the markets of the republic.
The areas occupied by vegetable crops in farms of all categories amount to more than 17 thousand hectares. 7 thousand hectares have been allocated for potatoes this time.
According to Rosstat, in 2023, a total of 470.1 thousand tons of open and closed ground vegetables were harvested in the CBD, and 154.6 thousand tons of potatoes. According to the results of the new season, farmers expect a harvest no worse than last year’s.
