On November 22, a regular meeting of the Council for Agro-Industrial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Union was held. The Russian Federation was represented at the event by the Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev.
According to the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, in the face of growing global challenges, Eurasian integration remains the guarantor of food security of the Union member states. The most important result of cooperation between our countries in this area is the development of indicative balances for certain types of products. The use of this mechanism in the future will allow more efficient planning of mutual trade volumes.
Dmitry Patrushev noted that the volumes of its own production allow our country to fully provide the domestic market with the main types of agricultural products and food, while maintaining the status of one of the largest exporters of agricultural products in the world. In this regard, Russia is ready to continue to take part in strengthening the food security of the EAEU. At the same time, our countries need to more actively exchange information on current work in terms of providing agricultural products for making operational decisions at the Union level.
Also at the event, they assessed the level of providing the agricultural industry of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union with material and technical resources, discussed issues of general epizootic well-being and approved the decision to hold a meeting of the EAEU AIC Council in 2023 in the Russian Federation.
