The work of the agro-industrial complex of the Kaliningrad region, the course of the sowing campaign and the development of rural areas were discussed by the Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev and the head of the region Anton Alikhanov at a working meeting in the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
The Kaliningrad Region ranks first in the Northwestern Federal District in terms of grain and rapeseed production. Now the sowing season is already underway in the subject, the feeding of winter crops has been completed. The pace of spring sowing is generally at the level of the previous year. The head of the Ministry of Agriculture noted the level of provision of farmers with mineral fertilizers. At present, the situation is generally stable. The region is fully provided with these resources by the time of spring field work, there is an accumulation by the autumn sowing.
Of particular importance in the issue of increasing productivity and increasing the commercial mass of products is the introduction of agricultural land into circulation and the development of land reclamation. The agricultural production of the Kaliningrad region uses about 70% of the total area of reclaimed land. Dmitry Patrushev drew attention to the need to take more active measures to involve the remaining sites. Since 2022, the implementation of the State Earth Program has begun. The region actively interacted with the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia at the stage of its development and is already implementing a number of activities.
Also at the meeting, the parties considered the implementation of the state program “Integrated Development of Rural Territories”. This year, the region is provided with more funds than in the past – about 800 million rubles.
