Agreements on plans for 2023 were reached during a meeting held in the format of a video conference. First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Chuvashia Inna Volkova and Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Adashkevich took part in the discussion of the issue.
The main types of goods shipped from the region were confectionery, drinking and mineral water, onion, chocolate and onion sets.
In turn, Belarusian equipment is in demand in Chuvashia. In the fields of the region there are 1830 units of tractors of the brand “Belarus” – this is 64% of the fleet of equipment of the republic of this type, as well as 117 combine harvesters “Polesie”, which make up 18%.
Also, producers from Chuvashia and Belarus are actively cooperating in the field of breeding and seed production. According to the results of state variety trials in 2021, 4 varieties of Belarusian breeding were included in the Register of crop varieties recommended for production in the Chuvash Republic: 2 varieties of potatoes, 1 variety of spring barley, 1 variety of spring triticale.
“We are interested in cooperation in the supply of zoned seeds to the Chuvash Republic. In the field of animal husbandry – our enterprise “Gomelagrokomplekt” is ready to assist in the construction of dairy farms, the acquisition of equipment and in terms of design. We have 4 agricultural universities in the Republic of Belarus. And the regions of the Russian Federation are sent to us for education, training and retraining of agricultural personnel. We are also ready for cooperation in this area, and the program is drawn up specifically for the requests of the Russian side,” said the representative of Belarus Sergei Adashkevich.
An offer was received from the Gomel branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Director General Marina Filonova expressed interest in the participation of representatives of a friendly country in the Potato 2023 exhibition, which will be held in Chuvashia in March next year. In addition, an initiative was expressed to exchange plans for specialized exhibitions, so that both sides take part in the events.
On the part of the Ministry of Agriculture of Chuvashia, Inna Volkova suggested prolonging the agreement in 2023, which provides for a 5% discount on the purchase of equipment manufactured by Gomselmash OJSC by farmers, as well as assisting in the promotion of Chuvash products in Belarus.
