Noteably, The Khattra Potato Group is a collective of farmers from the Malwa region and Doaba region, particularly focusing on areas such as Jagraon, Ludhiana, Khanna, Amloh, Sirhind, Samrala, Machhiwara, Moga, Bhatinda, Rampura Phul, and Muktsar in Punjab. The group initially started as a WhatsApp community of potato farmers about 4-5 years ago, aiming to create a platform where farmers could come together to share knowledge and best practices.
Over the years, the Khattra Potato Group has evolved into a significant entity, organizing fairs and exhibitions to benefit the farming community. The first fair cum exhibition was held in 2022, followed by another successful event last year. This year marks the third edition of the exhibition cum fair, aimed at uniting the potato community and facilitating the exchange of valuable insights and practices.
Participating Companies: Various Icompanies involved in potato farming, offering implements, chemicals, fertilizers, seeds, and more, actively participate in the program. Notable participants include Shaktiman-GRIMME, Preet, Kartar, Dashmesh, John Deere, New Holland, Corteva, Farmtrac, Jagatjit, Swaraj, Agrizone, Malkit, Surindra, Rama-Jandu, Jain Irrigation, Bayer, Mahindra, Sonalika, Yara, GoldstarMaschio, Gurbaz, Basant, IFFCO and Lemken.
