Two new flavors added to Boulder Canyon® Kettle Chips Cooked In Rice Bran Oil

Simple ingredient snack brand, Boulder Canyon Authentic Foods® , is expanding its line of Rice Bran Oil Kettle Cooked Potato Chips with two new crave-worthy flavors, Buffalo Ranch and Sweet Chipotle, available now at retailers nationwide (United States).

The new varieties join existing rice bran oil varieties, Roasted Jalapeno and Pink Himalayan Salt.

Rice bran oil is extracted from the outer layer of brown riceBoulder Canyon chooses to cook its chips in 100 percent pure rice bran oil to offer consumers a snack balanced with polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats. The unique oil is extracted from the outer layer of brown rice and imparts a milder finish to highlight each variety’s distinct flavor.

Buffalo Ranch pairs a kick of spice with a complementary cool finish to satisfy heat seekers, while Sweet Chipotle offers layered flavors of pepper combined with brown sugar and molasses.

Steve Sklar, Senior Vice President for Boulder Canyon Authentic Foods:

“We constantly look for innovative ways to bring our unique flavor combinations to life, particularly when paired with the distinctive oils used to cook our chips.”

“Rice bran oil allows us to cook at a higher temperature, which is ideal for delivering the smoky flavor notes that complement Buffalo Ranch, Sweet Chipotle and our existing Roasted Jalapeno varieties.”

Boulder cooks all varieties of its chips in small batch kettles to provide a more uniform product with a heartier crunch than traditional potato chips.

The kettle-cooked method also results in lower fat compared to traditional continuous-cooking techniques.

Boulder Canyon’s Rice Bran Buffalo Ranch and Sweet Chipotle varieties proudly feature simple, clean ingredients and contain no cholesterol. In addition, they are gluten free and Kosher certified.

Boulder’s Rice Bran Kettle Cooked Potato Chips are sold in grocery, natural food, club and mass merchandise retailers with a suggested retail price of $3.49 per 5.25 oz. package.
