See how the first Belarusian unmanned tractor BELARUS А3523і plows
Minsk Tractor Works has published a video  with its newest tractor – the autonomous BELARUS А3523і. The drone plows confidently in the field.

The official premiere of the first Belarusian unmanned tractor BELARUS А3523і took place on May 29 at the celebration dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Minsk Tractor Plant, which took place at the Chizhovka Arena. There, on a special fenced site, BELARUS А3523і in the autonomous operation mode imitated the operation of harvesting herbs with a modular rotary mower.

And here you can see a fragment of the tests of the “drone” in work with an 8-furrow reversible plow, which is one of the most difficult agricultural operations. And here is BELARUS А3523і itself, equipped with a diesel-electric (hybrid) power plant with a capacity of 350 hp. and electromechanical transmission. As we expected , the “drone” has a lot in common with the energy-intensive tractors of the 3522/3525 family.

Nevertheless, BELARUS А3523і is a fundamentally new machine. Along with a hybrid power plant, an electromechanical continuously variable transmission was used in the design of an autonomous tractor, which eliminated the direct kinematic connection of the diesel engine with the driving wheels. This made it possible, at a given power, to realize the speed and torque in the mode of maximum fuel efficiency. As a result, fuel consumption during agricultural operations is reduced by 7%, and during transport operations – up to 12% (when compared with similar tractors with a mechanical transmission). In addition, the level of emissions of harmful substances has been reduced by 10 times.

As you can see, an autonomous tractor does not need a cab. Because the BELARUS А3523і is controlled by an electronic system that remotely monitors the performance of all systems and units of the tractor. According to the data from the traffic safety sensors and taking into account the joint work with the precision farming navigation system, the autonomous control system independently makes decisions about the need to brake or about avoiding the obstacle that has arisen. In this case, a sound signal is given and a message is sent to the operator to the remote control.
