Continual Innovation and Collaboration in Potato Breeding
Agroplant Holland B.V., since its inception in 2002, has remained dedicated to discovering the most optimal potato varieties for both farmers and consumers. Through collaboration with breeders and in partnership with Fobek, Agroplant tirelessly searches for the proverbial “needle in the haystack” – a potato clone with exceptional qualities.
Years of meticulous testing across trial fields in the Netherlands and abroad, encompassing rigorous evaluations of cooking, frying, and taste profiles, culminate in the hopeful identification of new varieties poised to make a significant impact.
Over time, Agroplant has successfully registered multiple varieties tailored to diverse market segments, each boasting its own unique attributes. With a repertoire now exceeding 15 varieties, including renowned names like Actrice, Bernice, Cereza, Hind, Liselotte, and Metro, Agroplant exports these potatoes worldwide to meet the demands of its discerning clientele.
Among the newest additions to Agroplant’s lineup, Baroque for french fries, Kyra for red-skinned fresh consumption, and Taylor for crisps, hold promising prospects for the future of the potato industry.
