Agrico Hosts Future Leaders in Potato Production

Engaging with Students at Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences

Agrico, a leading name in the potato industry, recently welcomed students from the Agrifood programs at Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences to its headquarters in Emmeloord. The visit provided an excellent opportunity for students to engage with industry professionals and gain insights into the practical applications of their studies.

During the visit, alumni Manfred Schleper and Iris van der Gun shared their career journeys within Agrico, illustrating the diverse opportunities available in the potato sector. Their experience highlighted the importance of integrating academic knowledge with real-world practices, emphasizing the role of human resource management (HRM) and process management in enhancing operational efficiency.

The students also presented their final projects related to HRM within Agrico, receiving valuable feedback that they will incorporate into their final reports. This interaction not only enriches the students’ learning experience but also fosters a stronger connection between academia and industry, which is vital for addressing future challenges in potato production.

Agrico remains committed to supporting educational initiatives and nurturing the next generation of professionals in the agrifood sector. Such collaborations are essential for promoting innovation and sustainability in potato farming and ensuring the industry’s continued growth.
