Potatoes from China arrived in Primorsky Krai for the first time since 2021.
In the period of May 18-21, Rosselkhoznadzor specialists examined 5 batches of potatoes that arrived in Primorye from China. These are the first deliveries of such cargo in almost a year.
According to the press service of the department, the total mass of potatoes allowed for import into the region “after a long break” is 119.6 tons.
This is the first delivery of a vegetable to the seaside market from China since July 2021, but not the last – right now another 250 tons of potatoes are being inspected.
“Restrictions on the import of potatoes from China by the Rosselkhoznadzor were not introduced. However, the Chinese side reported that it had suspended the export of products from the zones in which objects quarantined for Russia were found,” the Rosselkhoznadzor noted.
The ministry added that companies from southern China have been trying to get the opportunity to supply potatoes to Primorye since the beginning of 2022.
Earlier, Vostok-Media wrote that the Chinese side was in no hurry to open checkpoints for tourists from Primorsky Krai.
