Danespo A/S Showcases Leading Potato Varieties at the “Niedersächsische Früh- und Veredelungskartoffel-Erzeugergemeinschaft eG” Demonstration Field
Danespo A/S recently presented three of its top-performing potato varieties at the demonstration field hosted by the “Niedersächsische Früh- und Veredelungskartoffel-Erzeugergemeinschaft eG” in Schwüblingsen on July 4th. The event attracted around 100 farmers eager to gain insights into the latest cultivars, with a key focus on seed availability for the upcoming spring season.
Among the showcased varieties was the early, waxy yellow Ballerina, which demonstrated an impressive yield of 9 tubers per plant across 6 stems. Widely recognized and listed by major packers in Germany, Ballerina continues to be a staple choice.
Also featured was the early, predominantly waxy Aromata, noted for its processing suitability akin to Corinna and praised for its robust resistance against nematodes. Similar to Ballerina, Aromata showed a promising yield potential of 9 tubers per stem.
Rounding out the presentation was the highly early Mikado, increasingly popular especially within the Colomba segment. Mikado stood out with an exceptional yield of 11 tubers per stem, reinforcing its status as a robust and sought-after variety recommended by agricultural chambers in North Rhine-Westphalia.
