This year, Sakhalin farmers plan to sow about 900 hectares of potatoes, open field vegetables and fodder crops in the region. And this is about 160 hectares more than in 2021.
Thus, last year 1,829 hectares of potatoes, 537 hectares of open-field vegetables and 6,477 hectares of fodder crops were sown. This year, the plans are to plant 1,908 hectares of potatoes and 616 hectares of vegetables.
It should be noted that in 2022, the regional government will compensate farmers for the purchase of elite seeds of potatoes and forage grasses. Greenhouses will also be reimbursed, but only if they purchase coal and gas. In addition, financial assistance will be provided to other producers who buy mineral organic fertilizers and take care of perennial fruit and berry plantations.
By the way, the region is engaged in the production of meat, vegetables, eggs and milk. In 2021, over 300 billion rubles were allocated from the federal budget to support local farmers.
