Potato and vegetable production increased in Ivanovo region

At the end of the year, according to updated data, 11.7 thousand tons of open ground vegetables were harvested in agricultural organizations and farms of the region, which is 13.1% more than in 2021. Potato harvested 19.6 thousand tons (+20.2%).
The leaders in the collection of vegetables in the region are the farms of the Volga region. So, Alliance LLC collected 4.3 thousand tons of vegetables, Nadezhda Voloshchuk’s farm – 1.9 thousand tons.
The leaders in the production of potatoes are the Niva farm of the Teikovsky district, where 4.7 thousand tons of potatoes were dug up this year, the Orion farm of the Teikovsky district – 3 thousand tons, Alliance LLC of the Volga district – 2.3 thousand tons.
Recall that from next year, within the framework of the new federal project “Development of Vegetable and Potato Growing”, potato and vegetable producers will be provided with subsidies for agrotechnological work, for the production of potatoes and vegetables in open ground, including elite varieties.
As the director of the regional department of agriculture and food of the Ivanovo region Denis Cherkesov noted, the new support measure is aimed at expanding the sown area occupied by open ground potatoes and vegetables, as well as increasing the production of these crops in agricultural organizations and farms in the region. In 2023, it is planned to allocate 10.7 million rubles for these purposes.
