The yield of potatoes has increased in the Novgorod region.
The Minister of Agriculture of the Novgorod Region, Elena Pokrovskaya, at a regular meeting of the operational headquarters, announced the interim results of the harvest.
According to the minister, this year, spring sowing took place in agricultural organizations and peasant farms on an area of 31,720 hectares. Grains were harvested from an area of 3,835 hectares (37.1% of the sown area). The average grain yield is 25.3 centners per hectare. Rapeseed was harvested from an area of 1582 hectares (43% of the sown area), the gross harvest amounted to 2978 tons. The average yield is 18 centners per hectare.
For the harvest of 2023, winter crops will be sown on an area of 6,400 hectares, including cereals – 4,800 hectares, rapeseed – 1,600 hectares. 4,134 ha have already been plowed for winter sowing.
To date, potatoes have been harvested from an area of 41 hectares (9% of the planted area). The average yield is 280 centners per hectare. Moreover, last year the figure was 252 centners per hectare. Vegetables were harvested from 14.5 hectares (7.5% of the sown area). With a yield of 430 centners per hectare, the gross harvest amounted to 623 tons.
Forage preparation continues. To date, 108.4% of the need has been harvested.
This year, 529 million rubles are provided for state support of agricultural producers in the region. 344.7 million rubles or 60% of the annual limit has already been financed, the press center of the regional government reports.
