First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar held a regular meeting of the commission for the seizure of unused and issued lands in violation of the law.
According to Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeev, since the beginning of the year and as of August 10, the commission has returned 1 million 119 thousand hectares of land to the state, which is 2.7 times more than last year, when the figure was about 400 thousand hectares.
“Currently, 724 unscheduled checks are being carried out in relation to land users on an area of 2 million 94 thousand hectares, 48 applications for checking 698.4 thousand hectares of land are at the stage of registration with the prosecutor’s office,” the minister said.
In addition, since the beginning of the year, the territorial subdivisions of the Committee for Land Resources Management of the Ministry of Agriculture have established 74 facts of provision of plots by akimats in violation of the requirements of the law.
“At the same time, there is an acute shortage of pastures for grazing in the amount of 16 million hectares. This situation leads to a reduction in livestock and an increase in social discontent in the countryside,” Yerbol Karashukeev added.
In general, the commission plans to conduct inspections in relation to 2,584 entities on an area of 7.45 million hectares, including arable land – 585.2 thousand hectares, pastures – 6.86 million hectares.
The Minister of Agriculture urged local akimats to be actively involved in the work to identify unused agricultural land, as well as to control the reliability and relevance of data submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture on land plots.
As you know, on August 9, 2022, the President of Kazakhstan signed a decree providing for the lifting of the moratorium on inspections for compliance with land legislation.
By the end of this year, it is planned to ensure the return to the state of up to 5 million hectares of unused and issued agricultural land in violation of the law.
