The republican authorities are planning to build the first complex for storing vegetables by the end of next year, Head of the Republic Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov said.
“By the end of 2023, we intend to build the first modern vegetable store in the region with the ability to store up to 30,000 tons of products at a time,” Kalimatov was quoted as saying by the press service of the head of the region.
According to the Head of Ingushetia, the construction of a new complex will allow the republic to increase food independence. This year has turned out to be prosperous and rich in harvest for farmers. These rates will increase, and the subject needs its own granary with a dryer.
According to the press service, this year it is planned to harvest a record amount of grain crops in the region. According to a preliminary forecast, Ingushetia expects to receive 90,000 tons of grain. This year, farmers will be able to get a record wheat harvest – 40 centners per hectare. Last year, a little more than 30 centners of wheat was harvested from 1 hectare, and winter barley was also in the region of 28-30 centners per hectare, in general, agricultural enterprises of the republic harvested 54 thousand tons of grain.
Agrarians will sell part of the grain, and some will be stored in warehouses at state unitary enterprises and farmers. There are no grain dryers and granaries in the republic yet.
According to the information of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, it was possible to increase the yield this year primarily due to favorable weather conditions in the ripening phase of grain crops.
In addition, agricultural enterprises were given instructions to sow only elite varieties of wheat. Timely protection of plants from weeds and pests was carried out, the amount of mineral fertilizers was increased. All these measures allowed the Ingush farmers to count on a record high harvest compared to previous years.
The total area of agricultural land in the republic is 122.2 thousand hectares, including arable land – 70 thousand 347 hectares.
