A significant step towards import substitution of special equipment was made by the Minsk Motor Plant and the Cheboksary Plant of Power Units, having released the Universal tractor.
The model of this maneuverable tractor will be used in places with limited movement conditions for specific works of municipal services and agriculture. For example, new equipment is planned to be used in greenhouses and municipal services.
According to the MMZ press service, Universal tractors are equipped with a Minsk three-cylinder MMZ-3LD engine with a power of 35 hp. and hydrostatic transmission. The uniqueness of the machine lies in the possibility of using a wide range of attachments. In addition, unlike competitors, this machine has a small turning radius, which is only 3.5 meters.
Cooperation between MMZ and CHZSA began in May 2020. The Russian partner purchased Belarusian D-243-1644 engines for installation on a forklift.
The Cheboksary Plant specializes in the production of undercarriage systems for industrial heavy-duty tractors, assemblies and components for road construction equipment, agricultural and forestry tractors. Since 2021, the enterprise has organized production and mastered the production of forklifts and municipal equipment.
The press service of MMZ also noted that the supply of engines from the Minsk Motor Plant to Chuvashia will increase by the end of the year.
