As of May 17, spring sowing in Belarus was carried out on an area of 1966.9 thousand hectares, which is 88.5% of the plan. 91.6% of the area is sown in the Vitebsk region, 76.8% in the Gomel region, 96.1% in the Grodno region, 92.2% in the Minsk region, and 72.9% in the Mogilev region. Sowing has already been completed in the Brest region.
Sowing of buckwheat was carried out on an area of 13.9 thousand hectares, or 41.9% of the plan, millet – on 3.97 thousand hectares, or 41.8%. Flax was sown on 44.7 thousand hectares, or 99.5% of the area, sugar beet – on 93.7 thousand hectares, or 95.1%, annual grasses – on 166.5 thousand hectares, or 62.5% . Vegetable crops were planted on 4.55 thousand hectares, which is 73.4% of the plan, potatoes – on 21.1 thousand hectares, which is 102.2%. Corn has been sown on an area of 852.8 thousand hectares, or 80.1%.
The soil for sowing spring crops was prepared on 2110.2 thousand hectares (95% of the plan). These crops will be placed on an area of 2221.9 thousand hectares.
