A potato processing plant will be opened in the Tula region. On May 31, a symbolic stone laying was held in the Uzlovaya SEZ in honor of the start of construction of the McCain potato processing plant.

The ceremony was attended by Governor Alexey Dyumin, Canadian Ambassador to Russia Alison Leclair and President of the McCain Company for Europe, Central Asia and Africa Erwin Pardon.

Alexey Dyumin noted that a major investment project of the Canadian company “McCain Foods Rus”was launched today. In the near future, a modern potato processing plant will appear here. The total investment volume is more than 12 billion rubles. The company will create about 200 new jobs. What will be favorable for the social policy of the region. He also noted that: “This means that our region has a favorable investment climate, we support investors, and business trusts the regional authorities. For us, all investors who come to the region become part of our large regional family. Welcome to our family! Welcome to the Tula region!”, – Alexey Dyumin emphasized.

Canada’s Ambassador to Russia Alison Leclaye said that the project implemented by the company “McCain” in the Tula region, will create in the region not only a new plant for processing potatoes, but also open new jobs and cooperation with Tula farmers.

Erwin Pardon noted that the plant, built in the Tula region, will become one of the most modern and environmentally friendly enterprises of the company. The region has a lot of highly qualified personnel, well-developed infrastructure. There will be opportunities for cooperation with Tula farmers.

Alison Leclair and Erwin Pardon thanked Alexey Dyumin and the regional government for their support.
