Russian breeders have completed long-term field trials of two recently bred potato varieties called Zlatka and Sokur, which have shown high fertility and resistance to late blight. So, according to breeders, up to twenty tubers can be collected from one bush of both varieties.
It is worth noting that the Zlatka variety is mid-season, it is resistant to diseases that are common in Novosibirsk, and its yield reaches 456 centners per hectare. Sokur, on the other hand, is a pink potato that is highly resistant to pathogens and has a high level of starch, which gives this variety an excellent taste.
Also, according to the results of field tests, these two potato varieties showed high fertility and resistance to late blight and other plant diseases that are common in Siberia. In addition, they have two features, thanks to which they have become interesting for large farms and ordinary summer residents. We are talking about multi-tuber and resistance to phytophthora. Thus, up to twenty tubers can be collected from one bush. By the way, over the three years of working with them, farmers have become convinced that these varieties are better than others that are popular in the region. In addition, about 400 varieties of potatoes are included in the state register, about half of which are foreign.
