In Tatarstan, in 2022, measures to support agricultural producers will be expanded to increase the sowing of potatoes and vegetables. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Rishat Khabipov.
“For 2022, we have taken additional support measures to increase the area of potatoes and vegetables both for households and for the population in vegetable gardens. Many villagers at one time reduced the area under potatoes,” Khabipov said.
He recalled that Tatarstan historically attaches great importance to the development of small forms of management. About 500 million rubles are annually allocated from the republican budget to support personal farmsteads, including 350 million rubles for the maintenance of cows by citizens.
“Today, the issue of preserving the village as a whole, its social and economic development is acute. Now, on behalf of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, zonal seminars-meetings are being held in the regions to increase the business and social activity of the villagers. One of the key issues of the meetings is the preservation of employment in rural areas. These measures made it possible to keep the number of cattle in the population in the amount of 300 thousand heads, including 100 thousand cows,” Khabipov gave an example.
