The head of the Amur region said that the farmers were well prepared for the sowing campaign

The governor of the Amur Region, Vasily Orlov, said that agricultural enterprises were well prepared for the sowing campaign.
As the regional government clarifies, sowing of corn and soybeans is actively underway in the region, work has begun in eight districts of the region, almost 135,000 hectares have already been sown with soybeans. Orlov got acquainted with the course of the sowing campaign during a working trip to the Tambov region.

“In general, the farmers of the region are well prepared for the spring field work. Using the example of the enterprises of the Tambov region, we see that they are actively involved in the sowing campaign. Weather conditions still allow us to work on schedule, but our agricultural producers are able to work even in the most difficult conditions, and at the same time show excellent results,” Orlov said, quoted by the government of the Amur Region.
The sown area in the Tambov region this year will occupy 175.8 thousand hectares, and in the Amur region as a whole – 1230.6 thousand hectares, that is, 200 thousand hectares more than last year. In the north of the region, according to the authorities, they are completing the sowing of grain, in the south they have begun sowing soybeans. In the Blagoveshchensky, Konstantinovsky, Seryshevsky and Tambov regions, in the Ivanovsky and Belogorsky municipal districts, fodder crops are being sowed, in total, 6.8 thousand hectares have been sown in the region.
In the Blagoveshchensk and Svobodnensky districts, as well as in the Belogorsk district, enterprises began to sow vegetables. Potatoes are being planted in the Oktyabrsky, Blagoveshchensky, Zavitinsky, Tambov and Ivanovsky districts.
In 2022, the area of ​​potato fields in the Amur region will be increased by 400 hectares or 21%. Vegetable crops in the region, which now occupy about 500 hectares, should “grow” by 110 hectares. Farmers also expect to increase productivity. Weather permitting, the entrepreneurs plan to more than double their potato and vegetable harvest.
