Potatoes, vegetables, fruits and berries are planted in the Saratov region. Onions, carrots, beets, and melons are grown in the region. Planting and sowing are in full swing.
In addition, 34.5 hectares of fruit and berry plantations were planted in three districts of the region. At the same time, more than 11 tons of cucumbers and tomatoes have already been harvested in greenhouses since the beginning of the year.
“The harvest of potatoes and vegetables planned for 2022 will ensure food security and independence of the region in the face of external sanctions,” said Roman Kovalsky, Minister of Agriculture of the Saratov Region.
