With over 25 years of experience in the agricultural sector, Tanya has honed her expertise in government relations, policy development, management, and team leadership. Her career showcases a profound commitment to the growth of the agricultural industry, supported by her skills in stakeholder engagement, policy advising, and advocacy.
Reflecting on her new role, Tanya Pittard shared, “I am honoured to take on the role of Chair of Potatoes Australia. This is a crucial time where a united representative body focusing on growth, sustainability, and profitability is needed more than ever in the Australian potato industry.”

Collaborating closely with farmers, researchers, and industry partners, her leadership will help address the evolving needs of the Australian potato sector, focusing on growth and long-term resilience.
As we welcome Tanya, we also wish to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Nigel Crump, our interim Chair, whose dedication and strategic vision have been instrumental in our success. Nigel’s leadership during the World Potato Congress in Australia earlier this year marked a significant achievement, bringing together over 900 delegates from across the globe. His contributions continue to enhance our standing within the global potato community. Fortunately, Nigel will remain on the Board of Directors of Potatoes Australia Ltd, ensuring valuable continuity for our organisation.
