Dutch seed potato growers feed over 800 million people worldwide. This is the message that Potato Valley wants to convey to us more clearly. According to Knowledge Network, this was made possible by a recently released fifteen-minute film.
The Netherlands annually exports about 800,000 tons of seeds to countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and Central America. “More than 30 million tons of potatoes can be grown locally. With all these consumer potatoes, up to 800 million people could be fed,” writes The Potato Valley.
The Northern Netherlands Seed Potato Knowledge Network believes this message needs to be spread even more widely. That’s why Potato Valley made a film about how Dutch seed potatoes will feed the world. For example, recipients from Morocco and Israel will talk about why they choose Dutch potting soil.

In addition, the film should show why the northern Netherlands is particularly suitable for growing seed potatoes. “Consider, for example, the combination of light clay soil, favorable climate, and location by the sea. As a result, diseases and pests are less likely to succeed,” Potato Valley emphasizes the tip of the veil.
