Kazakhstan, a country known for its agricultural prowess, celebrated Potato Day on August 30th in the Nurinsky district of the Karaganda region. This event, hosted at the base of KH “Alderaan,” was organized by the collaborative efforts of “August-Kazakhstan” LLP and AlemAgro company.
The gathering was not just a celebration but a rich source of knowledge for farmers and enthusiasts keen on enhancing their potato cultivation techniques. Among the essential elements of a successful harvest, experts emphasized the significance of adhering to production technology, implementing well-structured plant protection schemes, and embracing cutting-edge agrochemicals, according to “August-Kazakhstan” specialists.
Attendees were enlightened about the agricultural experiences related to cultivating early-maturing Columba potato varieties. Traditional plant protection methods were discussed alongside the presentation of results from experiments involving the incorporation of new formulations from the “August” company.
Nurgali Kanitaev, the lead technologist of the company, highlighted the promising aspects of the new plant protection products (scheduled for registration in the country by 2024). These products showcased remarkable results: potato yields in demonstration plots were 10% higher than those in fields where the same variety was grown, thanks to the application of these innovative solutions.
“August-Kazakhstan” is dedicated to continuously improving agricultural methods, aiming for bountiful harvests. Teaming up with their partner company, AlemAgro, they are actively contributing to the advancement of the country’s agriculture sector. Through events like Potato Day, knowledge sharing and the introduction of innovative techniques are becoming pivotal in Kazakhstan’s journey toward agricultural excellence.
