Mahindra HZPC, a prominent player in Indian seed potato industry, commemorated a decade of success dedicated to the farmer prosperity. The event epitomized the company’s commitment to empowering farmers, fostering tech driven growth and prosperity.
The ceremony was inaugurated by a farmer and his family associated with the company from last decade. Mr. Herman Verveld, CCO and Mr. Rick Franken, Business Controller from HZPC joined the festivities, alongside current employees.
Farmers shared their experiences that how the company has grown step by step and reached its milestone with the best quality of seed potatoes and the new varieties in the market. Notably, varieties like Colomba and Taurus were lauded for significantly increasing farmers’ incomes by 20 to 40%.
CEO Davinder Singh shared the whole journey and how the minituber capacity has been grown by 7 times in last 8 years, marking a remarkable expansion in production capabilities. Senior leadership expressed gratitude for the fruitful partnerships forged with clients such as McCains, Hyfun, JK, Agristo, and Iscon Balaji, acknowledging their role in the company’s success. A token of appreciation is presented to dealer Advait Agrotech from Gujarat and seed multiplication farmers for their decade-long association.
Addressing the gathering digitally, Mr. Gerard Backxx reflected on the initial challenges of penetrating the Indian market and expressed confidence in Mahindra HZPC’s continued growth trajectory. Also, a momento was presented by HZPC to company depicting the enduring partnership.
Herman Verveld emphasized India’s vast potential as a market for potatoes, citing a tenfold increase in French fries’ production over the past decade, with further doubling expected in the coming years. The event showcased two flagship products, Colomba and Taurus, each tailored to meet specific market demands. Colomba, a short-duration, scab-resistant variety highly popular in the markets of Gujarat and Bengal while Taurus, noted for its high yield and extended storage capabilities, caters to the crisping segment.
Dr. Indira Dhumne, talked about the new varieties in the pipeline which are going to take Mahindra HZPC in the next orbit underscoring the company’s commitment to innovation.
