Residents of Kamchatka who grow potatoes and other vegetables in the open field can apply for state support. We are talking not only about small and medium-sized enterprises, but also about the self-employed, and about citizens leading personal subsidiary farms, the press service of the government of the Kamchatka Territory reports. The new federal project “Development of vegetable and potato growing” will start on January 1, 2023. “Financial assistance will be provided from federal funds, which will be sent to the regions in the form of transfers. Kamchatka and its Far Eastern neighbors – all subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District – will receive a higher coefficient when calculating and distributing funding, which is due to our plans to increase the production of potatoes and other open-field vegetables. This year alone, 2,400 hectares have been allocated in the region for planting potatoes in farms of all categories. In the next, we plan to increase the area not only for potatoes, but also for other open-ground vegetables, ”the message says, the words of the regional deputy chairman Roman Vasilevsky. The amount of a subsidy for a particular enterprise or a person running a personal subsidiary plot will depend on the volume of products produced and subject to the official sale of their products. Subsidies will be provided for agrotechnological work, for the production of vegetables, including elite varieties, in open and protected ground.
