The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia has launched a project to create a federal map-scheme of agricultural land, which will be drawn up in the context of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The pilot regions were the Kaliningrad, Moscow, Belgorod regions and the Republic of Tatarstan, which are maximally prepared for such work. The events are held within the framework of a specialized state program, which will provide complete and up-to-date data on the state of all agricultural land, including land. The first results in the Kaliningrad region were discussed by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Svetlana Khodneva, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Agriculture of the region Natalya Shevtsova and representatives of interested departments of the region.
According to Svetlana Khodneva, an inventory of agricultural land in Russia has not been carried out for more than 20 years. Meanwhile, this work is necessary in order to have up-to-date information and understand the state of the main production resource. The inventory will improve the quality of forecasting and analytics necessary for the development of the agro-industrial complex of the subjects.
In the Kaliningrad region, such work has already been carried out in a test format in a number of municipalities, it is planned to complete the project by November this year. By this time, updated data on agricultural land in the region should be placed in the all-Russian database, which is being created within the framework of the Unified Federal Information System on Agricultural Land.
Summing up the results of the meeting, Svetlana Khodneva noted the high pace of the project implementation in the region. As a result, a product demanded by farmers will be obtained – producers will see up-to-date information on the areas that they can involve in circulation and develop their production. The work done will allow to obtain an applied result in the form of complete and up-to-date data on the state of all agricultural lands, to eliminate the inconsistency of information about them in various sources. In addition, there will be an additional opportunity to identify illegally used and unregistered lands to be put into agricultural circulation.
