Florigo has opened its Food Technology Centre on Friday March 14th, comprising the cutting, drying, (vacuum) frying and freezing technology.
A lab-scale vacuum fryer, one of Florigo’s world patented technologies, is available in the test centre. Furthermore, the centre is equipped with a basic laboratory, to create reproducible and accurate measurements. The FFTC and lab are run by its newly appointed food technologist, according to the company’s announcement.
Florigo has a long history in developing new snack products and applications for its clients. The opening of the FFTC was inevitable as more and more customers and prospects were asking for demonstrations units throughout the world, according to Arnaud Jansse, who runs the FFTC.
“We have requests from customers to use our FFTC from the USA, Belgium, Germany, the Philippines and Japan for various purposes but mostly for development of new products.”
The FFTC is not only used for external purposes but also to assists Florigo’s Research & Design department to develop new processing techniques. Besides this it assists Florigo to extensively perform product testing, especially for “uncommon” products for nutritional value, taste, crispiness, oil uptake, mouth feel etc.
