The Norway’s Prime Minister, Erna Solberg, visited Tomra’s manufacturing and distribution facility at the Prologis Park Bratislava in Senec, Slovakia.
The facility manufactures sensor-based sorting machines for the food, recycling and mining industries for the TOMRA subsidiary, TOMRA Sorting Solutions. The machines optimize resource productivity to help customers obtain more, use less and reuse resources to make the planet more sustainable.
The Prime Minister was accompanied at the facility by the Ambassador of the Slovakian Embassy in Norway, František Kašický, and a delegation from the Norwegian Embassy in Slovakia.
Over the course of the tour, TOMRA Sorting Solutions’ president and chief executive officer, Stefan Ranstrand explained how TOMRA’s powerful combination of technologies make the company one of the most advanced providers of sensor-based sorting solutions in the world, with around 10,500 of its systems installed globally.
The BREEAM certified facility, which opened in October 2014, is equipped with the latest building and manufacturing technologies and incorporates sustainable design techniques, such as LED lighting, which align with TOMRA’s vision to lead the resource revolution. Today, the facility employs more than 230 people who together produce around 1,200 sorting systems each year based on 30 different machine types.
