On Tuesday, April 26, Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Dagestan Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov took part in a board meeting of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan, where the results of the work of the agro-industrial complex of the region for 2021 were summed up.
In the current economic situation, farmers in the region face new challenges. According to Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, today self-sufficiency in food is a key component of national security, which is the reason for the increased attention of the country’s leadership to solving urgent issues of the development of the agro-industrial complex.
“The sanctions restrictions imposed on Russia create certain difficulties, which in turn requires a reformatting of our activities with you to minimize damage. Such tasks are also set by the head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to the agrarians of Dagestan, rural workers who, with their selfless work, form the good name of our republic as a supplier of quality food.
The country’s farmers managed to increase production to a level that covers the needs for basic foodstuffs. In many ways, this is the result of the balanced approaches of the country’s leadership, the well-established systematic work of the authorities and tangible state support, primarily from the federal center,” Abdulmuslimov emphasized.
He noted that the task of increasing the volume of agricultural production is set in the republic. In particular, this year it is planned to significantly increase the area under vegetables, paying special attention to the organized sector (+1.5 thousand hectares for potatoes and +1.8 thousand hectares for vegetables).
Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov noted that the agro-industrial complex of the republic plays an important role in a number of positions throughout the country, respectively, the situation in the market of individual food products also depends on the results of the region.
The agrarian sector of the economy, according to Abdulmuslimov, is a backbone, largely determining the state of the entire national economy and the socio-economic level of the vast majority of the population of the republic. It employs up to 30% of the working population.
“In 2021, the volume of agricultural production amounted to 176.2 billion rubles with a production index of 100.5%. The volume of gross output in the crop production sector amounted to 84.4 billion rubles (with a growth rate of 100.8%), livestock – 91.7 billion rubles (100.3%).
The agro-industrial complex makes a significant contribution to the formation of the revenue part of the republican budget. For 2021, tax payments were received in the amount of about 6.5 billion rubles, which is 5.1% more than in 2020. Thus, it can be argued that, despite various factors, a stable growth in agricultural production is ensured in 2021,” Abdulmuslimov emphasized. .
The Minister of Agriculture and Food of Dagestan, Battal Battalov, spoke in detail about the results of the activities of the agro-industrial complex of the republic in 2021 and the tasks for 2022 in his speech.
He noted that the past year 2021 was another test for the agriculture of Dagestan due to climatic factors. But taking into account the lessons of the past years, agricultural producers showed great business activity and did a lot to make the year positively productive.
“Thanks to the promptly taken measures, the positive dynamics of the development of the agro-industrial complex is maintained,” Battalov emphasized.
Speaking about the development of funds, the minister said that in 2021, 2.4 billion rubles of budgetary funds were allocated to support the agro-industrial complex of the republic. The disbursement of these funds amounted to about 100%.
“The agro-industrial complex makes a significant contribution to the formation of the revenue side of the republican budget. In 2021, tax payments were received for 6.4 million rubles, which is 5.1% more than in 2020.
Taking into account the implementation of measures aimed at reducing tension in the labor market and identifying labor reserves, 5,177 jobs were created in 2021, including 725 on a permanent basis. The financial results of the economic activities of agricultural organizations for 2021 improved compared to 2020. The level of profitability reached 20.6%. The share of profitable agricultural enterprises amounted to 96.9%, which is a positive trend for the current situation,” said the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan.
