Countdown to the 71st International Potato Autumn Fair in Hamburg

The German Potato Trade Association Gears Up for a Key Industry Event Focused on Dialogue and Innovation

In just four weeks, on October 1st, 2024, the German Potato Trade Association (Deutscher Kartoffelhandelsverband e.V. – DKHV) will host the 71st International Potato Autumn Fair in Hamburg. This prestigious event, a key date on the calendar for potato growers, traders, and industry stakeholders, promises to foster dialogue and provide critical updates on the latest trends in the sector.

At 5 p.m., Thomas Herkenrath, President of DKHV, will formally open the evening. Following the opening, a keynote address by Dr. Christoph Endres, a renowned computer scientist and AI researcher, will focus on the increasing importance of cybersecurity in the digital supply chain. His presentation, titled “Protecting the Digital Harvest from Pests: Cybersecurity and Potato Trade,” will highlight the vulnerabilities that come with the digital transformation of agriculture and trading processes.

The event will take place at the Hotel Hafen Hamburg, located at Seewartenstr. 9, 20459 Hamburg. Participants can expect comprehensive discussions on the marketing season 2024/2025, along with presentations from 17 companies representing various stages of the potato value chain. These presentations will showcase the latest developments and innovations, providing a holistic view of the industry’s future direction.

The event is an excellent opportunity for potato professionals to engage with peers, explore new business opportunities, and stay informed about emerging trends and challenges within the sector.

Registration for the event is now open, and the DKHV encourages all interested parties to secure their participation promptly. The industry looks forward to a successful gathering that will drive forward the future of potato trading and agriculture in Europe.
