Chile: seek frost tolerance in wild potato plants to create new varieties

One of the challenges of potato breeders is to transfer the ability of some species of wild potatoes to acclimatize to low temperatures and withstand frosts below -3°C. The article narrates some attempts to transfer this character to the cultivated potato via genetic improvement.

Based on a publication by INIA Chile that is in edition, the note was written by María Teresa Pino under the title of Seeking frost tolerance in wild potato plants to create new varieties.
