Super Pufft Snacks Corp., a North American chip and snack manufacturer, has opened a USD50 million, 140,000 square-foot plant in Airdrie, Alta.
The potato chip processing plant will be the company’s second, following a 172,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Mississauga, Ontario. According to the firm, the new Airdrie plant will handle around 78,000 tons of Alberta potatoes per year.
Super Pufft is a family-owned and operated business in Canada that has been in service for over 60 years. Super Pufft began a 20-year growth of its product lines under new management, expanding from popcorn to potato chips, canister crisps, pop chips, extrusions, and fried pellet snacks. Along with its Go 2 Snax value-branded chip and extrusion line, the company primarily creates private-label goods and sells them to restaurants and chain outlets across the United States.
The new facility is gluten-free, kosher, halal, and Non-GMO Project confirmed, just like the Mississauga site.
